How NOT to Feel Guilty About our Favorite Foods

Diet does not have to be a four letter word. You can eat foods you enjoy and still lose weight, feel better and get antioxidants. Here are five things to make you feel better about the way you eat.

Savor Your Food:

Eat slowly, and enjoy it. By slowly eating your food you not only enjoy it more but eat less. Most  people eat too quickly without really enjoying it and end up eating larger portions.

Red Wine:

Not only is this full of antioxidants from the skins of the grapes but it lowers cholesterol too. Doctors recommend that you drink one to two glasses a day for health. Moderation is  important though. Drinking too much makes it harder to lose weight and causes long term damage to the body.

Chocolate and Sugar:

Every woman desires chocolate, but most people do not know that it can be good for you. Not just any sweet treat though. You want to avoid high-fructose corn sugar. Stick to chocolate bars with real sugar and that are at least 60% cocoa. This is also full of antioxidants, and has been shown to lower blood pressure and cholesterol.

Coffee:

Coffee is the number one way this country gets its antioxidants. So never feel guilty about that latte in the morning. Caffeine is a good way to get out of bed, but it can also get you ready for your workout. It mobilizes the fat to fuel workouts and over time has been shown to increase endurance.

Dairy:

Calcium is good for the bones. We have been taught this since grade school. Recently Yogurt is all over the place because how good it is for your gut and colon health. There is more to dairy than this.  Did you know you can use it to lower blood pressure and lose weight too? The Calcium in dairy helps prevent the hormone that creates fat storage.

That's good. Moreover the best thing to do is eating only - when it is possible - seasonal food. This is best for our health and for the world!
